Smoke detectors are a great thing in your home.
They keep you and your family safe in the event of a fire emergency and will let you suppose if the place is on fire.
However, my smoke detector is sited in the wrong section in my house and I am not sure what to do with it, however everytime my central heating and a/c goes on it sets it off! The problem is that the air flow is so powerful, it gusts when it comes on and the smoke detector mistakens it for a fire starting for some reason. The smoke detector is sited right beside one of the main air vents in my house. I have thought about moving it. However it is one of those smoke detectors that are wired into the place and can not be moved. If I was to have the smoke detector moved, I would have to call a professional to rewire the whole house. Which at this point, I am thinking about doing. The central heating and a/c needs to be on obviously, so I can not shut down the heating or cooling to prevent this from happening. But at the same time, I can not go on with the heating and a/c consistently setting off my smoke alarm! It is really driving me nuts to tell you the honorabletruth. I have turned to the internet looking for solutions to this problem I am having in my home. I could also just get a portable space gas furnace and portable a/c and be done with it.
