Why don’t schools offer an HVAC course?

I don’t understand why schools don’t offer an HVAC course for the students.

There are so many useless courses at the school that I attended while I was in high school.

I could learn so many things about economics, math, science, and even things that didn’t even make sense. Most of the stuff that I learned while I was in high school are things that I have literally never used in my adult life. However, there are things that I had to know when I became an adult that I was completely unprepared for that my school failed to teach me. For instance, I had no idea what I was supposed to do when my HVAC unit stopped working. I had only been living in my first apartment for a few weeks when the furnace stopped working. I was responsible for fixing the HVAC units, and I didn’t know what to do. I had to call my dad to learn that if my HVAC units stop working, I was supposed to call an HVAC technician. IF there was an HVAC course in my school, I might have even been able to fix the HVAC unit myself. There are some basic HVAC repairs that an HVAC technician might charge hundreds of dollars for that would only cost you $20 to do yourself. If schools offered HVAC courses, I am sure that students would be a lot more prepared to handle the real world. It might also spark a lot of interest to help encourage students to become HVAC technicians. Since there is a shortage of HVAC technicians, we could use some more young people in the field.
