Some heating and air conditioning companies are pretty straight forward with their rates. These would be the heating and air conditioning places that have been in business for years. Then, you have your independent heating and air conditioning contractors. This is where you need to be careful. I have hired many independent heat and a/c contractors over the years and most of the time there is some hidden charge in their rates. You need to ask them about everything from trip charges, hourly rates and even the hours of operation in terms of what time of the day they are coming to perform whatever HVAC home services you may require. This is where I noticed a lot of the hidden charges coming in. If you ask up front you will know exactly what you will be paying and know if you should go with your heating and air conditioning contractor selection or not. You should even ask with the heating and cooling companies, just to be on the safe side. This is my advice on the matter because I used to be pretty nicely in the dark about the costs of heating and air conditioning services with different heat and a/c companies and heating air conditioning contractors. But now I know, and now I am sharing this information with you all because it is my choice.
