Getting customers comfortable at a photography studio

After I graduated high school, I decided to turn my passion for photography into a work.

This had me taking classes at a local community school to refine my skills, and I later opened a boudoir photo studio in my hometown.

While many consider boudoir as taboo, I didi not.In fact, for me, the human form is beautiful, and I love collaborating with my clients to make art together. I live in a weather conditions with a long winter, and my studio is in an aged building. It has sizable windows which is great (natural light is integral to my work). However, since they haven’t been replaced since the 1940s, it can get drafty in the studio! Well, since my clients are nude or partially nude when working on a project together, it’s paramount that the gas furnace is running smoothly. The utility bill in the building is consistently higher while the people I was with and I were in the frosty weeks, so I consulted a heating and air conditioning serviceman about improving my gas furnace efficiency. He was kind enough to suggest some useful heating tips, especially for retaining heat. He suggested installing door sweeps and foam window seals to prevent drafts, which have very made a difference in retaining the heat produced by my gas furnace. He also recommended installing radiant floors in my studio for the comfort of my clients since he said that radiant floors are a pretty efficient heating solution, and that my clients would like the luxury! After clearing the idea with my property owner (who agreed to cut the cost), I had a heating and air conditioning contractor install radiant floors in my space. Since I had to be out of the studio while they were installed, I took the chance on a few beautiful afternoons to revisit my older passion for nature photography while the heating and air conditioning servicemens worked their magic. I had some magical ideas of my own for incorporating nature in my boudoir practice. Getting radiant floors was a win for all involved!
