I know that there are some people out there that couldn’t imagine living without their central air conditioning system, and maybe some people that don’t know me will find it odd, but I am not like that. I don’t need a central air conditioning system to keep me cool. In fact, I have found that I save way more money by not using the central cooling system. I have not used it or my heater in two years. I shut it off one day and never bothered to turn it back on because I simply don’t feel the need to. I opted to instead purchase a few window air conditioners from my heating and cooling business. I put them in my windows with the fans on hot days and they do the job of keeping my home cool just fine. When it is winter time and the cold starts to come around I use my space heater. I purchased the space heater at the same time I purchased the window air conditioners and I don’t even have to use the space heater that often. I live in a warmer state and the winters here are normally mild, so I have only used it a few times on exceptionally cold nights. I believe no longer using my central heater or air conditioner has been one of the best things for me, and for my wallet too. I no longer have to worry about my air ducts, or tune-ups, or the cost of my energy bill. It has made my life far more simple and that is exactly how I want to keep it.
