When the HVAC technician arrived at my house to work on the furnace, I was a little miffed.
Not only did he not pay attention to me when I was trying to explain what was happening with the furnace, but he didn’t take his eyes off my wife.
I thought it took a lot of nerve to walk into someone’s house and make it obvious that you were smitten with their wife. I put my arm around my wife and asked her if she would go upstairs until the HVAC technician had the furnace repaired. If she was hanging around, I wasn’t sure I was going to get him out of the kitchen and into the basement. She kissed me and walked away without a backward glance at me or the HVAC technician. I opened the basement door, but the HVAC technician didn’t pay one bit of attention until my wife was out of sight. I was getting quite angry and I reminded him he was there to work on the furnace and not ogle my wife. He apologized and told me he wasn’t trying to ogle her. He was trying to figure out where he had seen her before. My wife reminded him of someone he had known when he was a kid. He said she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and she moved away before he got a chance to talk to her. All of a sudden, he found her standing in my kitchen. The HVAC technician assured me he wasn’t trying to flirt with her because he was happily married, but he was sure she was the same girl who had lived down ythe street from him when he was just a teenager.
