I guess I should have known better than to get involved in a game of truth or dare.
The question I was asked was extremely embarrassing and I couldn’t answer it.
So I went to a dare question and suddenly I was being dared to have an indoor air cleaning system installed in my house. This was my buddies’ way of telling me that I had poor air quality in my home. I kept saying that I couldn’t do that because it wasn’t even my house, it was just a rental home. Then my buddies said that maybe I could work out something with the landlord and I would only pay for a portion of the HVAC upgrade. So I ended up working things out with the landlord and he laughed when he learned this was a dare that I had to do. He said he knew how serious that sort of thing was and he was willing to go half and half with me on the air purification system upgrade. So before I knew it, the professionals were there taking care of the installation. It was kind of expensive too, and it feels awkward because it’s not like I’m going to be able to take the new air purification system with me when I move. I feel like the landlord kind of cheated me on this deal and that’s why he was so happy about moving forward with the installation. I paid for half of it, and I am only going to live here for another year. At least the air quality is very nice now, so I can’t be totally angry at my buddies for this.
