As a homeowner there are certain challenges that you will face over the lifetime of owning your home. Depending on how long you live in your house, you might need to replace a few major appliances. For example, if your HVAC unit is over 15 years old, you will eventually need to replace it. Similarly, at some point, you might need to replace a dishwasher, or perhaps a washing machine. Appliances break and malfunction all the time, so this is just part of the deal of being a homeowner. While it is expected that equipment will malfunction, there are certain repair costs that can be a surprise to the homeowner. Once such cost is roofing repairs. Typically, roofing issues show up unexpectedly and it can become a very costly expense for the homeowner. Roofing repair costs a lot because of the materials that are needed to fix the roof. And recently, I discovered solar tiles that are attached to the existing shingles. My roof has the most common type of roofing material used in the country and that is asphalt shingles. Shingles are durable, they last long, and can withstand high winds. I am confident that my roof is intact, and I am hoping that I don’t have any unforeseen issues with my roof. And keeping my fingers crossed, that I get spared from any major storms that will form in the near future.
