I need to make these last 12 days count because I probably won’t be back here to visit the States for another year.
I am thinking about moving back to the USA in about three or four years before everyone gets too old on me.
I have been living overseas since 2016 and am starting to get a bit homesick. The only problem with living in the States again is it has become really pricey and I’m not making the money I once was. All of my friends are making tons of money with their local businesses doing HVAC repairs and things like that. I chased comedy for 17 years and all of my money vanished in the process, but I have a ton of fond memories from doing nearly 1500 shows over that time period. I was an HVAC worker, running my own heating and cooling business for ten years, but I wanted a change so I chased a dream for many years. In the end though, the things I remember most are the experiences and not the money or the things I bought. When I was making a lot of money with the heating supplier shop doing ductwork repairs, I bought a Lamborghini Diablo, and still that really doesn’t add up to what the comedy experiences brought me. I am just scraping by with my HVAC equipment writing job and some side work doing stuff for the local contractor, but I have everything I need and a lot of free time to do the things that bring me joy.
