My HVAC technician had the a/c off for two hours in the middle of the afternoon

Now that I work from home full time, I have to be more firm with my family members over boundaries and respect.

I can’t have professional phone calls with my kids barging in for any random reason or request.

They have to realize that I’m inaccessible like I would be at the office, assuming there are now emergencies. Even my wife unintentionally crosses this boundary sometimes, and I understand it’s new for all of us including me. With that said, I’ll be excited to see the kids going back to school next month and my wife starting her new job. I love my family to death, but sometimes I just need a little space. Although my family has no responsibility in the terrible workday that I just endured. They had all left for the day to visit the water park. We had HVAC repair scheduled that day and it was just easier to get them out of the house so they’re not uncomfortable. On the other hand, I had to stay and attempt working while the a/c tech had the system down for three and a half hours. It looks terrible to be sweating bullets on a Zoom call when you’re in your own living room. I had no choice but to open the windows in my home office and turn on a bunch of fans to address my sweating. When the air conditioner technician was finally finished with the repairs, I was elated. I turned the system back on and set it to 72 degrees so it would run continuously for a while.
