I used to have this old ventless gas oil furnace in our basement at our last rental house. I would commonly call for Heating, Ventilation and A/C maintenance for the oil furnace in addition to the cooling system, although I officially would forget about that old ventless gas heater. It was annoying because the pilot light would regularly go out in that gas oil furnace in addition to it would be frigid in the basement when that would happen because the oil furnace would shut off when the pilot went out. The only way I was able to get the thing to light again was to blow out all the dust with 1 of those air duster cans, however eventually, I remembered to ask the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional about the issue while he was there. It was absolutely quite simple for him, he used some kind of special cleaning tool in addition to some oil, in addition to he cleaned the part for the pilot light thoroughly. He didn’t even charge myself and others anything extra to do that because it was so simple for him to do. The pilot light on that gas oil furnace never had any complications after that.
