They closed our favorite restaurant because of the heat.

I thanked them for a delicious meal and handed them my business card

Every year on our anniversary, my wife and I go to the same restaurant where I proposed to her. I couldn’t believe how long it had been when she said it was twenty years. We stood outside the restaurant for almost ten minutes before we realized it was closed. They had closed the restaurant because the heating system wasn’t working. My wife looked at me and told me I was a husband that night, and not an HVAC technician and I just smiled. I saw the HVAC service van out back, and knew the furnace was in good hands. We were getting in the car when I noticed a fast food store across the street. They had the greasiest yet best cheeseburgers I had ever eaten, and she smiled. We walked across the street and went into the restaurant. It wasn’t our favorite restaurant, but the furnace was working perfectly and it was comfortably warm inside. After the first bite of hamburger, she smiled and said this was her new favorite restaurant. I’m not sure we’ll ever quit going to the one across the street, unless their furnace breaks again, but this was a close tie. The cheeseburgers were amazing, and the fries were crisp. We held hands and talked for an hour until we heard someone say they were closing. I thanked them for a delicious meal and handed them my business card. If they ever needed an emergency HVAC technician, I told them to call me. I wasn’t sure I ever expected a phone call, but two weeks later they said they had a furnace problem. I was quick to take care of the furnace for them and they tipped me with cheeseburgers and french fries to go.
