This past year, my partner and I found out that the ductwork in our attic needed to be replaced altogether.
The 60 year outdated dwelling had 60 year old ductwork, and it was no wonder that we were paying a bunch of money on the heating and cooling expenses each month.
My partner and I saw a grim picture when we were presented with an estimate for approximately $8,500. The estimate covered all of the ductwork repairs and replacement of a majority of the sheet metal. The estimate also covered labor fees for the numerous contractors that would be needed to complete the job. My partner and I did not expect to see such an immense amount on the estimate. We honestly were not prepared to spend all of our money on the ductwork repairs. I made the choice to get a couple of estimates to see if anyone could handle the work cheaper! One of the Heating and Air Conditioning appliance contractors offered my partner and I a much better idea. The guy was actually surprised no one else offered us the same solution. The guy suggested going with a ductless Heating and Air Conditioning appliance… He said we didn’t have to agonize about the ductwork if we went with a ductless possibility in our dwelling. The guy believed that a few ductless Heating and Air Conditioning appliances in our dwelling would effectively cool the space. It was still $5,000 for both of the ductless Heating and Air Conditioning appliances, however the two of us replaced our heating and cooling component along with the ductwork. We shouldn’t have any setbacks for several years now that we have chosen a new way to heat and cool our dwelling.
