My water heater broke, so I contacted a plumber

I am not a savvy person when it comes to doing repairs around my home.

I grew up in a house where my dad took care of all the repairs.

He was pretty handy with just about everything. If there was a leak from the kitchen faucet, he would grab his toolbox and immediately fix the issue. I remember we had an issue with the flap inside the toilet tank and my dad went to the hardware store, got the part that he needed, and fixed the toilet in no time. It was great that my dad was so handy because we didn’t have to worry about anything. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn how to fix anything from my dad, and now that I live on my own, I just contact someone to help me to fix problems around my home. Well, a few weeks ago, my water heater broke, and I needed to get it fixed. I called my dad and he suggested that I contact a plumber for something like that. After I called a company that I found online, the gentleman asked me what kind of water heater that I had. He wanted to know if it was a standard, tankless, or heat pump. I knew that I didn’t have a heat pump, but I had no idea what kind of water heater I had. He asked me to go into the closet and take a picture of the unit and send it to him. After I did, I discovered that I had a standard water heater. The plumber was able to fix the minor problem, and then provided some tips on how to service the hot water heater in the future.
