There is something really special about hitting your anniversary with a job. I have been working as a heating and air conditioning technician for 20 years now. Tomorrow marks my official 20-year anniversary. It’s hard to believe that I have been working at the same heating and AC business this long. When I first was hired, I never imagined that I’d be working at a heating and air conditioning business practically my whole life. I thought it would be something I would do for a while before eventually moving on to another career. However it was the joy that I got from performing the heating and air conditioning repairs and tune-ups that made me stay as long as I did. My coworkers weren’t just my coworkers, they had become good friends with me and my boss is really cool. It was almost like going to work was like having a second family. One day I will retire, but I hope that I don’t retire for at least another 10 years. I can still remember my younger days when I first became a heating and AC worker and I was so excited to do the job then. I’ve learned so much since then and looking back on my younger self almost feels like meeting a different person. But the one thing that hasn’t changed is my admiration and love for what I do, and that is working in the heating and cooling industry and I will continue to do what I love.
