Last week, it was swelteringly hot in the office.
We have been having a bit of a heat wave lately and so work has been even worse than it usually is! I don’t really like my job on a good day, but whenever the temperature rises, it makes being in the office almost impossible. Our office is on the top floor of the building, and as we all know, heat rises. I think that whenever the air conditioning isn’t working correctly, the top floor of the building is a lot hotter than the lower floors are. Whenever the air conditioning isn’t working the right way, it’s obvious that people around the office notice. Everyone is meaner and grumpier than usual, and it seems like everyone in my department is just in a bad mood. They aren’t the only ones, either! I know for a fact that I get into a bad mood whenever the air conditioning isn’t working. It’s the same way at home, but I think that it might be even worse whenever I am at work. At least at home, I can put on a tank top and shorts. At the office, I have to be dressed up and that’s hard to deal with whenever the temperature at your desk is 80 degrees. I was thinking about bringing in a portable A/C unit to my desk by the end of the week, but finally I saw a commercial HVAC truck out in the parking lot. I am really hoping that they get this problem fixed by Monday!
