My Mom plus my dad have been together for 45 years, this is longer than most marriages I know.
I asked them once about the secret to a good, lasting marriage. Mom plus dad explained how they never put off arguments and fights. If you find something that’s not to your liking, you address it there plus then. This means they never go to sleep with heavy hearts, or wake up not speaking to each other. Truly, I believe this has worked for them, because they do have some epic battles. These aren’t those abusive plus damaging fights, but healthy arguments that help them resolve concerns. This was over temperature controls which dad complained mom was hogging. Mom has been ill, so in summer, she still wants their current home to be warm. Given how sizzling it is outside, the heat can be quite unbearable in the house, however dad tried understanding why mom chose to leave the more current home boiling in June when she was super ill. But, by July, he wanted some chill in the more current home plus would change the temperature control settings. Mom plus dad constantly bicker about the temperature control settings, but this time it got quite epic. So, in order for them to live in tranquility, I had them install Heating as well as A/C zoning. That way, their home office would be very nice plus boiling for mom, plus the rest of the current home cool for dad. This was the smart compromise since mom prefers spending time in their home office while crafting her merchandise.
