My wife and I made all of these plans when it came to just when we would have our first baby and how it would fit in our schedules.
That’s how arrogant we were about something that is so completely and utterly life changing.
We really thought like we do when we’re inside the commercial HVAC of our respective offices. It’s like we were applying our problem solving skills to a pregnancy. Well, so much for all of that because mother nature decided that she still runs the show when it comes to the miracle of childbirth. Right off the bat, the whole thing changed on us. We figured it would take a few months to get pregnant due to the years of birth control. So of course, we got pregnant right away. That meant that my wife would be having our child in the dead of summer when you need the most air conditioning. This was not on the schedule. But it continued to get interesting from there. My wife had a really tough time with the pregnancy once she got close to her third trimester. So the doctors sent her home from the commercial HVAC of the office. She was then on bed rest inside the central air conditioning of our home. That was tough for her but the only move that was safe for mother and baby. Thankfully, we went all in on the HVAC technology in our home. The smart thermostat app on my wife’s phone really came in handy once she was stuck in bed and I was at work. She was able to control the thermostat remotely from the bed thanks to that smart thermostat HVAC technology.
