My sister Juanita is jealous of my new smart thermostat system. I think it’s the craziest thing, but Juanita is always jealous of me for some reason or other. I guess it’s always been that way, ever since we were kids. I remember back when we were growing up, she got super mad at me because I asked for a window unit air conditioner for my room. She had asked for a bunch of dumb clothes instead of an A/C unit, so her room was very hot in the summer time! Of course, even though our parents spent exactly the same amount on my window unit A/C as they had spent on her clothes, she was mad at me for it. I tried to tell her that she should have been smarter in her choice of spending money for her birthday, but she could only see the fact that my bedroom was being cooled by A/C while hers was not. I kept telling her that it was not my fault that I had an air conditioner and she didn’t. It was no one’s fault but her own, but she was annoyed about that air conditioner in my room for years. And now that we are adults, she is doing exactly the same thing. It’s not like I have somehow kept her from going out and buying her own thermostat unit. I have no control over my sister at all. But now, she’s all mad at me because I have purchased a new smart thermostat system for my house. I’m loving the new smart thermostat, but Juanita is acting like I bought a new thermostat just to spite her!
