My parents can never do anything halfway.
When they set out to do something, it has to be done to perfection, or it’s considered not done well.
My parents are easily well known around city because of their extravagant ways. When they became empty nesters, they wanted to downsize into a smaller home. Where all the people in their situation would simply sell their home and purchase a smaller a single, my parents decided to build an really beach house from the ground up. It took them over a year to completely finish the build, because everything was completely custom designed. They imported brick from Italy for the front of the home, and the pool was custom designed for their backyard oasis. My parents also went to dire lengths to install a geothermal heat pump for their furnace. Of course they couldn’t install a normal central Heating, Ventilation & A/C plan like other houses properly do. Not only was a geothermal heat pump extravagant, but it was time consuming. Thankfully, a geothermal heat pump was easier to install with new construction, and it would spend money itself off over the years. My parents loved how economically friendly a geothermal heat pump was, and they knew it was a nice investment. It also increased the value of the home tremendously. I like their attention to detail, but I don’t suppose I’d have the patience to custom design a apartment like they chose to do, but don’t get myself and others wrong, I like going to see their immaculate home, but it entirely cost them a fortune!
