I was anxious when our child told me that he was joining a fraternity.
I never absolutely joined a fraternity myself, however I had heard all the excruciating things that people talk about.
Well, our child was having a hard time for sure when I talked to him, however he didn’t seem to want to talk about what was going on. I guess they have strict rules in these fraternities when it comes to talking about what is happening. They are not undoubtedly tolerant of ‘snitches’ so to speak. Well, eventually I was able to get our child to tell me something, plus I didn’t love what I was hearing. He said that they made them sleep with the heating program running at 74 degrees during the hot season! I thought that our child could get genuinely sick from covered in sweat through the night. He told me that I shouldn’t tell anybody about this or he could get into giant trouble. I had to ask our child if it was worth it suffering through the days with the heating program laboring at a crazy temperature control setting. He seemed to want to get to the next level so he could beginning calling the shots, however it sounded love they would just torture the next people who were joining the frat house. I asked him if he would like torturing other people the same way he was being tortured with extreme temperature control settings, plus he admitted that he wouldn’t want to do that. So he ended up quitting the fraternity, plus I was proud of him for that.
