Put “energy efficiency nerd” on my dating profile

I guess you could say that I am no stranger to dating. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I go around sleeping with random dudes left and right. In fact, my dates rarely ever get to that point because it is not common that I find myself feeling very connected to the people that I match with. Most of the time we go on an awkward dinner date and never communicate again. That’s why I decided to start getting very specific with my online dating profiles to hopefully find more viable matches. This is exactly what I was thinking when I filled out a recent questionnaire and posted that I was an energy-efficient nerd on my profile. I thought it was a good idea to go ahead and let them know that I don’t enjoy paying high energy bills or living a very frivolous life with my indoor appliances. In fact, if it’s ever possible to live without modern amenities such as heating and cooling equipment, I am 100% on board. This is the same reason why I recently had my heating, cooling, and air quality control system upgraded to the most energy-efficient models on the market. Now, with my smart thermostat I barely have to pay anything for my energy bills each month. The last thing that I want is some Joe Schmo Show coming through my house and changing my thermostat settings or abusing my brand new energy-efficient HVAC system. I feel like it’s important to be upfront right off the bat… And I will not be accepting any energy wasteful HVAC abusers in my DM ever again.
