My first experience with air conditioning systems wasn’t that great, and because of the experience, I had a pretty negative impression of HVAC units for awhile after that.
It happened after I moved into my very first home.
Before I lived in my own home, I lived in a very nice studio apartment. This little apartment didn’t have heating and cooling, but it made the rent cheap. The apartment was very nice, and I might have stayed if it had a HVAC component, but that combined with my hunger for a large home drove me away. I bought a home of my own about a year later. With this home came with a heating and cooling system, and right from the start I had issues. This was my first official experience with an air conditioning and heater on my own. I had HVAC when I was younger, but my parents always dealt with that. Anyways, only after a week of moving in I was having issues. I was a bit frustrated, because I was expecting HVAC whenever I wanted, and my current air conditioning was not fulfilling that role. So I called a HVAC professional and arranged to have my HVAC looked at. I thought that once the HVAC specialist fixed it I would be done. Nope, the HVAC repairman was unable to fix it, and I was back to square one. I tried 2 other HVAC businesses with no luck, so I gave up for a little while and went back to not having any heating or A/C. It wasn’t until I had my HVAC unit replaced that I realized I just started off with a dud.
