I guess I am too stupid to own a smart thermostat, first, the replacement was sort of a pain.
I should have purchased a weather conditions control component that my Heating & A/C company sells. I then could have had 1 of the Heating & A/C workers do it for me. Instead I purchased something online that was cheaper & did it myself. The thermostat boasted capability with 95% of Heating & A/C systems, then at first it tried to tell myself and others my component was in that 5% of not capable. After a while I realized that there was a wire that I was linking & couldn’t. Emergency heating is something my Heating & A/C plan allows for that the thermostat does not, and so I lost that function in order to earn a modern thermostat. After installing it I thought my worries were over. Nope, the thermostat is always a problem. I read online that it learns a heating & cooling program based on what you do. I don’t think what my thermostat thinks, but 67 degrees at 4 am isn’t a wonderful temperature. The thermostat will change my heating settings throughout the afternoon. I believe it is trying to provide myself and others energy efficient settings. I would love to waste my money on wonderful heating please! I frequently wake up in the middle of the evening cold. I stop my work afternoon & check my thermostat because I think it is chilly at home. Since my thermostat is being such a turd I have ignored its wants for air filter changes. It will not listen to me, so I am not listening to it.
