My boss is the sort of insane internet billionaire that you read about.
He actually made his money very early on, in the days of Yahoo and Ask Jeeves, before Google had taken over the entire online world.
He cashed out for a huge payday over a decade ago, and has been living a life of leisure ever since. He is a huge nerd, and loves comic books and toys, so of course he bought his own comic shop just for himself to use. That wasn’t big enough, though, so he built a custom designed climate controlled warehouse just for his ever growing comic collection. This guy buys out entire comic stores just for their inventory, and got an industrial grade HVAC system installed on the roof to maintain them at the optimal temperature. There is a guy we have who works full time as a warehouse and comic book manager, but one of his main duties is watchguarding the HVAC system. This place is so big, humidity can accumulate rapidly if the temps start to fluctuate, so everything needs to always remain at a steady temperature. My job is to manage the comic manager, and make sure he has the tools and budget necessary to keep the HVAC system at 100%. When the boss goes in to read comics, which is still several times a week, he always bundles up in winter gear because the AC is too cold for him. He doesn’t want to take the comics out of the climate control, so he endures being cold to read them and keep them in tip top condition.
