Being a stranger in a weird line will absolutely come with a steep studying curve.
That was absolutely the case when I moved way up north for a task.
First, I could barely understand anyone because they all talked so fast. Second, I had to make sure everyone understood that I’m not stupid just because of our southern accent. And most importantly, there is absolutely a right way & a wrong way when it comes to heating a home up here. And when I got here, I sure did it the wrong way. When it got cold, & man, did it ever get cold, I simply leaned into the control component setting. That led to some pretty exorbitant Heating & Air Conditioning heating bills as the gas furnace was running near non stop. But honestly, I didn’t think any better. Thankfully, I have some actually kind neighbors who stepped in this past Summer to tune myself and others in on what I needed to do to save on Heating & Air Conditioning heating. It begins & ends with preparing the house. They showed myself and others how to seal the home up slender with new weather stripping, storm doors & sealing any exterior gaps. They also showed myself and others how to reinsulate a window & guided myself and others when it came to adding insulation to the attic. I did just what they told myself and others to do & it really, absolutely paid off. Not only was our minute Winter way more cozy, sizzling & comfortable, I saved a ton of currency on heating bills compared to the year before. I’m still not accustomed to the cold. But having a toasty home to get through the Winter in has sure made a colossal difference.
