I honestly wasn’t trying to be disrespectful when I went to my brother’s barbeque.
- It was just instinct since I was feeling severely overheated.
I went to his thermostat and cranked up the A/C system. He has always been kind of anal when it comes to people touching his stuff, especially the thermostat. When he learned the thermostat was now set to 64 degrees, he went off! He was shouting and trying to figure out he messed with the temperature control settings. I told him abruptly it was me and I apologized. I just had a long drive over and my A/C system quit working in my car, so I had to drive with the windows rolled down. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was disappointed when the temperature control was 75 degrees in his home which was not nearly cool enough! I was already sweating and everything but the A/C felt wonderful when I made the adjustments. He said that he didn’t think his A/C system would be able to handle all the stress with all the people over at the house. Just as I was about to ask him if he kept up with his regular HVAC system maintenance, the A/C system broke down altogether. He was mad at me because he still believes the A/C system would have been fine if I didn’t make the temperature control changes. I think the system would have broken down either way to be honest because he said he didn’t get an A/C tune-up for years. He definitely was overdue and he should have been getting that done regularly.
