Lately, my friend has been having trouble with her indoor air quality. She told me that she wasn’t sure why but for some reason the air quality in her home had decreased rather suddenly. She said her home used to be her sanctuary but now she was finding herself becoming sick often whenever she was home and it was making her miserable. Lucky for her, she couldn’t have asked for a better person because I work as a heating and air conditioning technician at a local HVAC business, and I deal with this kind of thing all of the time. I told her that I would be right over and take a look at her situation. I got in my car and drove the 20 minute drive that it takes to get to her house. When I arrived I got out of the car and made my way up to her front door. I knocked and it didn’t take her long to answer the door. I was concerned when I saw her, she didn’t look well, she was excessively pale and sickly. I started testing the air that was in her home and it didn’t take me long to discover the source of the problem. She had some serious mold growth in her air ducts and I told her that she would need to stay out of the home until it was professionally cleaned. I got some guys out and her air ducts were scrubbed top to bottom. After a good cleaning the house was noticeably fresher and I gave her a few standing air purifiers to help keep the air clean. Now that the mold was gone she could return home.
