My girlfriend taught me all about heating and a/c systems

I do believe that when most people think of a heating and air conditioning technician that by default they picture a guy.

It is true that the HVAC industry is dominated by male heating and cooling technicians, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t female heating and cooling techs.

I know some people that are hesitant to allow a female heating and cooling worker to repair their space heater or central air conditioner, however I am here to tell you that female HVAC technicians are just as good-and sometimes even better than their male counterparts. When it comes to the ability to be able to successfully diagnose and repair a furnace or an air conditioner, that is a skill the individual possesses regardless of gender. There are good and bad heating and a/c workers of both genders. It isn’t the gener that matters but the experience and skill level of that cooling specialist. Take my girlfriend, for example I know as much as I know about heating and cooling work because of all of the things she has taught me. I have met some of her male coworkers and while they are all very talented guys, I personally think she is more professional and skilled than they are. The annoying thing is that my girlfriend tells me that when she was in HVAC school, nobody took her seriously because she is a woman and she had to work extra hard to prove herself as competent and successful. Through much dedication and hard work she graduated and proved them all wrong.
