I had the worst day recently.
I was out there just playing some catch with our son Pat. He has such a fantastic arm, even when he throws some pretty wild balls plus I would rush to make the catches even when it was ridiculous. Well, Pat and I use a ductless mini cut plus I wasn’t thinking about it when Pat threw the ball towards the general area of that outdoor unit. I ended up jumping for the ball, from there it was all momentum. I genuinely caught the ball but when I noticed that I was going to plow into the condenser unit, I panicked. I abruptly dropped the ball plus then our face plowed into the condenser unit hard! Now I have to attest to the quality of these units because while I smashed up our face real bad, there wasn’t even a dent in that condenser unit. I ended up having to drive to the hospital because I thought I might possibly have a fractured jawbone. I was grateful when they told myself and others that I didn’t have a fracture plus I would just have to take some pain meds for a short while for the intense pain I was feeling. Now when I walk by the condenser unit, I will never quit thinking about the pain I felt slamming into the thing, and from now on if the ball gets tossed in that direction, I’m genuinely going to be more cautious about making the catch. I also was telling Pat the same thing to be careful when running down that way because I don’t want to see him in the hospital too.
