All of the other houses I bought were pretty straight forward when it came to the renovations.
But then, I hit a snag with the HVAC unit on this last house. I’m just a few years from retirement plus I wanted to have something to do in retirement so I decided to start buying small starter homes, repair them up plus turn them into rental units. This has been something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m not the sort who watched a few flipping shows on cable plus decided to get into it. I’ve always been interested in home improvement. That is evidenced in my home. All the added value in that home comes directly from me. And I’ve also jumped in to help others on projects to further my experience when it came to household projects. I knew this would come in handy when I started buying these homes. I entirely wasn’t all that interested about spending my retirement sitting in the air conditioning of my dining room. So I bought that first house. I was amazed by how well that how thing went. I was able to do everything however substitute the HVAC equipment. I have an HVAC company neighbor who is doing these houses for me. It was easy with the others as well. I did all the inside stuff plus the HVAC company substituted the HVAC equipment. But this last house, all of us ran into air duct that was easily not recoverable. So all of us had to make a change. But my HVAC company came through with the ductless multi split system.
