Going to the gym is harder when it’s below freezing outside

Now that we’re into the middle of December, the weather outside is getting extremely cold. We haven’t had much snowfall this year, but the temperatures are getting into the single digits in fahrenheit. I have a close friend who loves to go camping in this kind of weather with propane gas space heaters, but I tell him that he’s crazy for taking the risk. Not in using the gas space heaters in tents, but by trusting them with his life. You could inadvertently die from hypothermia if a cold snap moves through while you’re asleep in your sleeping bag. If your gas heater stops working or you don’t have enough sleeping bags, it could go from fun to a fatal situation before you’re able to wake up and realize it. Cold temperatures naturally make warm blooded creatures slower in their motor movements. Bears and raccoons need to bulk up before hibernation not just because food is less present during snow falls and freezes, but also because the temperatures slow them down completely. I find it a lot harder to go to the gym in the winter, even if the gym has a strong heating system running inside at all times. My body feels like it’s much easier to tire during winter freezing temperatures, making it harder to exert the same amount of effort while working out compared to the middle of the summer. I have tried to put a treadmill in my house, but it still takes a bit of force on my part to get myself moving and wanting to exercise when I know it’s so cold outside. You can run the furnace but it doesn’t necessarily acclimate your body to different weather altogether.
