I didn’t know Santa drove a service van.

Last week, I took off a couple of days of work to get ready for our annual Christmas party.

I was busy working in the kitchen when I noticed the service van pull up into the neighbor’s lawn.

I recognize the service man as being that of our local HVAC company, because I use the same HVAC company. What surprised me about the serviceman, was that Santa Claus hopped out. I chuckled, thinking about all the stories I’d read in all the movies I had seen where Santa got out of the sled. I wondered when he had exchanged his sled for a HVAC service van. That afternoon, I talked to my neighbor. She told me that the young man was doing all of his work that week in his Santa Claus uniform, just to make people feel a little happier about Christmas coming. Three times that week, I saw the same HVAC service van with Santa hopping out of it. I had to admit that HVAC technician made me smile. I’m sure that if he made me smile, then he also made all of his HVAC customers smile. I thought I had to call the HVAC company and let them know about their young service technician. I told the person on the phone that all of their HVAC technicians should walk around in some sort of Santa outfit, even if it was just the Santa hat. There was something about the season that pulled people closer, and the HVAC technician helped that feeling.I couldn’t believe how just seeing a young man in a Santa Claus suit coming out of an HVAC service man could change the way people felt.
