It’s HVAC air filter time again for our house

It’s almost Thanksgiving and I have a ton of things to be thankful for.

We are all okay after going through the Covid year. Our parents and loved ones got through the pandemic okay thus far. And we are gathering together this year for the holidays after a year stuck inside the air conditioning of our own homes. It’s also the time of year when I go get a case of HVAC air filters. That’s right, I get a case of HVAC air filters because I’ll most likely be changing the air filter for the HVAC every 10 days to two weeks. And this happens because my wife and I love to burn candles. When I say burn candles, I should say burn a lot of candles whenever we can during the holiday period. We don’t go for as many lights and decorations as we go for the candlelight. And all that burnt wax ends up in the air. From there, it gets sucked right to the HVAC return. That’s where it lands on the HVAC air filter. And the first time we went all out on holiday candles, I nearly choked out the HVAC unit. I had no idea that all that wax would end up coating the HVAC air filter. That first year, I noticed that the HVAC equipment just wasn’t cycling off the way it normally did. Before calling the HVAC company to send out an HVAC technician, I happened to check the HVAC air filter. And it was completely glazed over with candle wax. So Thanksgiving week means paying attention to all that I have to be grateful for and to go get a bunch of HVAC air filters.
