My mother has struggled quite a bit since my father passed away last year.
She doesn’t necessarily need a lot of help with manual work or running errands, even though she hasn’t gotten used to being alone most of the afternoon plus no longer having my dad to talk to when she wants.
If you’re in a partnership for multiple or numerous decades, I can’t imagine how it would feel to quickly lose that person in the bconnect of an eye. This is what happened to my mother, plus it was as swift plus scary as the actual process of my father’s decline. I have more than two siblings plus we’re all doing whatever we can to help out. Although I live the closest, some of my siblings fly in at random times of the year to stay with her for a month or more than one at a time. I genuinely like the help from them, almost as much as my mother does. But a single factor in her life that nearly broke my heart the most was finding out that she was trying to get by without an air conditioner as Summer was starting to set in for the year. Although she prodiagnosed, I got quotes from local Heating plus Air Conditioning dealers plus made arrangements for a new air conditioner installation. She might have resisted at first, however now she is overflowing with delight plus gratitude towards the gesture plus her new indoor cooling system. My mother won’t be trying to survive through a miserable Summer without an air conditioner plus that makes myself and others happy to realize it.
