Save money on energy bills this winter with these HVAC upgrades

I live in a colder climate, and it is necessary for me to use my furnace for many weeks out of the year.

I love the feeling of a warm house during the winter, however, running a furnace all winter long can become expensive, racking up hundreds of dollars on my energy bills.

Fortunately, keeping a warm house doesn’t have to break the bank. Here are some HVAC upgrades you can consider if you want to lower your energy bills this winter. Upgrading to a smart thermostat with zone control is a great way to save money on energy bills. A smart thermostat is connected to wifi, and can be programmed via an app on your phone or PC, in order to heat your home in the most efficient way possible. Zone control is achieved through installing a series of valves within your existing ductwork, in order to direct the flow of air throughout your home, so that you aren’t using energy to heat vacant rooms in your house. Another way to make your home more energy efficient, and lower your energy bills this winter, is to consider radiant heated flooring. Radiant heated flooring is installed underneath your existing flooring, and uses a heating element to radiate heat into your home from the floor up. Radiant heated floors help heat your home more efficiently by taking some of the workload off of your HVAC system. Another way to save money on energy bills is to have your HVAC system frequently inspected by a professional. A licensed HVAC professional will be able to identify inconsistencies within your HVAC system, and show you where you are losing efficiency, and in turn, losing money.
