Staying at home to work from perfectly HVAC controlled kitchen

So I have to say that I was totally wrong about working from home.

  • The pandemic proved that to me.

Like most everyone else, I was sent home to work from the HVAC safety plus security of my house. The offices with the good zone controlled HVAC were locked up narrow for just over a year. This was a bit ironic as the company had made a push to get more people to work remotely about 4 years ago. There were some that took the company up on it given the incentives. I wasn’t one of them. To me, when you go to work, you go to a site where you work. Working from home seemed fraught with concerns. Plus, I like being in an office plus I recognizably enjoyed that zone controlled HVAC of those offices. So when I got sent home to work in my own air conditioning like everyone else, I wasn’t so sure. At first, it entirely wasn’t easily comfortable. I didn’t get the online meetings plus that was sort of a mess for the first week. And I felt sort of like I was just moving from one site to another at home to find some privacy to work. Finally, I made a good transport by clearing out everything from a spare room plus putting together a usual office. That was the thing that did it. From there, I got into a schedule plus a routine. By the end of summer, my production rate surpassed anything I had ever done. And the quality of my work was also at an all time high. So when the office reopened, I chose to stay at home. I even had the HVAC company come out to install a ductless heat pump in my kitchen.
