The furnace sounded like it was burping.

She asked if I had a boiler? I didn’t recognize how she knew, even though she did

I walked into the house last night, & I wasn’t sure if I wanted to giggle or scream. There was a sound coming from the furnace that vaguely reminded me of how my Uncle Henry burped after eating a sizable but satisfying meal. I was sure the burping sound wasn’t a wonderful thing when it came from a furnace, but it was still quite funny to hear. I was hoping I hadn’t heard the noise, so I took off my coat & headed to the dining room. That’s when I heard the burp again. I bit my lip to keep from laughing as I picked up the PC & called the Heating & A/C company. When the operator asked who I wanted to talk to, I told her to please put me through to a Heating & A/C professional. The Heating & A/C tech finally got on the PC & asked how she could help me; I wasn’t sure how I was going to explain the odd noise coming from the furnace. Eventually I came right & told him that my furnace was burping. She stifled a chuckle & said it sounded like there was air in the lines. She told me she could be at the house within an second & look at the furnace & the pipes. She asked if I had a boiler? I didn’t recognize how she knew, even though she did. An second later, she was bleeding the water pipes & said there was just some air that was causing the burping sound when the heat turned on. She didn’t charge me for the Heating & A/C call & I didn’t charge him for the Starbucks Latte every one of us drank while laughing about the burping.
