I actually laughed when my buddies said they could help me fix my HVAC system.
It was making some crazy grinding noises and it sounded horrible.
I almost wanted to shut the HVAC system down, but it was too hot outside and the air was still cold enough coming from the HVAC vents. When I told my buddies there was no way we could work on the HVAC system, they said that I should at least call an HVAC professional to see what was going on. I relented and realized that I had to do this or nothing was going to improve. I was actually nervous that I would have to pay a small fortune to have my cooling system fixed. Fortunately, the HVAC professional was able to discover the root of the problem. It wasn’t even that the parts were worn, it was something to do with the system fan being out of place somehow. I don’t really know, but the HVAC professional was able to get it secured. He said something about how the bolts holding the system fan were loose and it was causing the fan to grind when it shouldn’t have been doing that. He said if I had let the problem go for much longer, I would have needed a new system fan and there could have been other damage that was even more costly to have fixed. This fix was very easy though and I didn’t have to pay that much money. My buddies still insisted that they could have fixed the issue without me having to pay anything.
