I sincerely didn't want to hear any excuses from the new guy

I hired a new worker to help out with air conditioner repairs. The guy had a enjoyable reference from his previous task, however he was only emplotted there for 6 weeks. When I asked the guy why he left, he told me there was a difference of opinion between him & the owner. I did not speak to the owner when I called for a reference. I spoke with a director. I noticed a couple of problems with the new employee instantly in the start. One thing that I didn’t like was the fact that the guy never seemed to show up on time. I schedule each one of my repair workers to start work at 8 a.m. I expect my repair workers to show up at 8 a.m. or earlier. I don’t expect them to show up at 9, 9:30, or 11. The first many days that the new employee was supposed to work, the guy was late everyday. On the third day, I took the kid aside & I expressed to him how important it was to come to work at 8 a.m. when she was scheduled. I thought he understood that I was serious, but Monday he was late again. That guy had truly enjoyable reviews as a repair worker on air conditioners & furnaces, but I cannot deal with someone that doesn’t respect my schedule. I told the employee that I will not tolerate any more excuses. If he is late again, he might as well stay beach house the rest of the day.
