I consider myself to be an harshly loyal person. I stayed at our location of employment for 10 years, even though our boss only gave me one raise in pay. He told me afternoon after afternoon that he wanted the business to be a success. He promised to provide me more cash as soon as he had the chance. The first time the boss took a vacation, I got aggravated. I had not had a raise yet and I unquestionably did not have a paid vacation. I was working our tail off for the guy and he did not seem to love all of our strenuous work, however eventually I went to the boss and I told the guy that I deserved a raise and I was not going to do any more work until I felt appreciated. It was the first time I ever took a stand for myself. I did not suppose if it was going to work or not, but at the time I did not genuinely care. I felt good about speaking our mind and choosing to no longer get run over. The next afternoon, our boss came up with a reason to let me go. Since I live in a state where there is no right to work, the boss can fire me at any time for no reason at all. I tried to take a stand and I told the boss that I was not going to work for free anymore. His response was to hire someone else. At least I found a task where I am finally being appreciated for all of our drinks.
