They had to service the A/C for the polar bear exhibit at the zoo Last weekwhen I was there with our kids. They had been wanting to go to the zoo for quite a while, although I kept putting it off because it was just too cold outside. The weather is heating up now and so there’s truly just a short window of time where you can go to the zoo between when it is too cold and when it’s too hot, but since all of the exhibits are outside basically, you have to go at just the right time. Well, absolutely not all of the exhibits are outside, during the winter, the polar bear exhibit is outside, however in the summertime they transport it inside because the temperatures get too tepid outside. Last week, the weather was pretty warm and absolutely the people I was with and I saw a whole bunch of people running toward the polar bear exhibit. Apparently, the large commercial A/C device that they use to keep the polar bears cool had broken down and everyone was panicking about it. I know it’s not truly good for the polar bears who live separate from their A/C system for any length of time at all during the summer. However, the commercial heating and cooling corporation that the zoo uses must be pretty good because before the people I was with and I even had time to get up there to see what was going on, there was a whole crew of Heating & A/C corporations coming in and heading up there with their tools. They had the A/C fixed truly suddenly and the polar bears were back to normal.
