You may be wondering why I actually live in a residence that looks essentially like a church! There’s a fairly fantastic story there.
It really is because it was supposed to be a church… If you lived around here, then you already were aware of what I’m talking about.
Construction started on a church quite some time ago, however halfway through the build they were out of funds. A few months later they had enough cash to do a little extra work, however not the remainder of it. This kept on for a few months, until it finally bankrupted the church organization completely, & that was basically the end of that. Anyway, I worked out a deal between the town & the general contractor who had been in charge of the build, & bought the place easily! Basically I was just paying for the land, since the half finished construction project had no real value. I managed to get another local construction crew, a small family-owned supplier that was just starting out, & hired them to come in & take care of the work. They were fast, they were eager for the work, & they were a bonded & certified construction business. It’s one thing to find the best price, however when it comes to construction don’t take shortcuts & hire random people to do the work. Anyway, this construction crew finished putting up a few walls, got the plumbing & the electricity entirely working, & screened in a back patio area. I moved in as soon as the construction crew was done with all of the work. If I have my druthers I will never live at another location.
