The old ventless gas oil furnace was a royal pain

I used to have this old ventless gas oil furnace in our basement at our last rental house.

I would commonly call for Heating as well as Air Conditioning maintenance for the oil furnace and the cooling system, but I properly would forget about that old ventless gas heater.

It was frustrating because the pilot light would always go out in that gas oil furnace and it would be frosty in the basement when that would happen because the oil furnace would shut off when the pilot went out. The only way I was able to get the thing to light again was to blow out all the dust with one of those air duster cans… Eventually, I remembered to ask the Heating as well as Air Conditioning professional about the issue while he was there. It was actually quite easy for him, he used some kind of special cleaning tool and some oil, and he cleaned the area for the pilot light thoroughly. He didn’t even charge me anything extra to do that because it was so easy for him to do. The pilot light on that gas oil furnace never had any concerns after that. Of course, we moved recently so now I have no proposal if there are concerns with that old heater, but I hope there isn’t anything wrong, but currently, I am renting a beach house that is a little bit larger because we plan on expanding our family some more. Eventually, we plan on buying a place though. Of course in the meantime, I’m thinking about asking the owner if we can have a UV UV air purifier installed in the house. I’m willing to spend our money for half of it.
