Calling an emergency plumber because mine doesn’t work on weekends

Usually I’m really good about staying on top of my home maintenance, but no one is perfect.

I could dust daily for weeks at a time and then miss several days because I’m busy helping out with overtime hours at work.

Then I’m stuck doing more cleaning than usual because I didn’t stay on top of my typical work and chore schedule. This happens fairly frequently in my kitchen, which frustrates me endlessly. I don’t want a mountain of dirty dishes, but sometimes that’s what I come home to after forgetting to do them the night before. That’s a side effect of not having an electric dishwasher and having to wash all of the dishes by hand. Amid my stress and confusion, I wasn’t staying on top of my plumbing maintenance. I was letting soap scum build-up in my drain lines and I noticed that two of my pipes were struggling to fully drain. I let this go until I had a huge clog form over the weekend. Sadly, my normal plumber doesn’t work on weekends so I had to call an emergency plumber at the last minute. I got the clog and draining issue fixed, but it cost a lot more money than what I’m used to paying with my normal plumber. If I had called him previously to come out and look at the problem, I could have avoided this situation altogether. Hopefully I won’t have a situation that requires me to call an emergency plumber for an extremely long period of time, if not longer. I don’t like paying for plumbing repairs when they’re that expensive.
