The other week, I helped my daughter build a hedgehog habitat. She has been asking to get a hedgehog for a long time now, but I never wanted to get one. I typically heard that hedgehogs poop a great deal, plus that just wasn’t something that I wanted to have to deal with. However, my daughter made the choice that she needed to get a hedgehog or that she was never going to be cheerful. She saved up all of her money plus she promised to be responsible plus take care of the hedgehog all by herself. I still had reservations about this kind of pet, but I finally gave in plus let her buy one… At that point, I didn’t really know that I was going to have to work so hard on building a habitat for her too! Apparently, whenever you are building a habitat for this kind of critter, you have to be super careful about the heating device that you install. Animals such as this have to have a built in thermostat plus a temperature setting in a particular range or they will die. Anyway, we put in the appropriate kind of heating appliance plus we installed a special thermostat component just for the hedgehog… Now, we are going to get a heating mat for the little creature so that it can be extra hot whenever it’s laying around inside of its cage.
