I was always worried that my son would not be able to find his way. I worried that he wouldn’t be able to find a good job or a career because he didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. I suggested going to college and he was adamantly against that idea. When I suggested trade school, my son chose automotive mechanics as a career. I was thrilled that he chose automotive mechanics as a career, because there are tons of performance, customization, and auto body shops in the area. There are lots of jobs for automotive mechanics and technicians. My son got a job working at a place that handles tires, brakes, suspension, and steering. He gets a good discount on all of the products that he wants. He only has to pay 5% over the wholesale price. Whenever I need something for my car, my son gets it at the price that he pays at work. He also stocks me up when I need things for my car like windshield wiper blades, windshield washer fluid, oil, and brake pads. I haven’t had to pay for a tire rotation in three years. My son takes care of everything that I need and most of the work he can do at home for free. Next weekend he is coming over to the house for dinner and I am going to get him to complete an oil change on the car. It won’t take him more than an hour and I will repay him for his hard work by making a delicious dinner with dessert.
