In some people a little authority will rush to their heads because they are incapable of handling it.
I observe from our Heating & A/C controlled office and watch this phenomenon occur over plus over without cease.
I have watched colleagues who abruptly inherit an amount of power only to immediately abuse it so they can subsequently lose that new found authority. Normally, this is how it goes. Corrective action occurs as power is abused. However, there are other niches in our human race where that doesn’t constantly happen. Community based organizations are frequent targets for power hungry people who have no concept of how to handle any authority at all. This also seems to routinely occur with homeowner associations. Ours is a tremendous example. The people running our local HOA are just the worst. They are so pitiful that they band together to attempt to be powerful bigshots. This group was unable to achieve any position of authority in any other way so they are living the dream by policing our city. I just had a run in with a member of the HOA ruling board concerning our Heating & A/C. The people I was with and I live in a space where the sunlight just eats paint care about it was slurping up gravy. The Heating & A/C compressor housing outside our new home is no longer the deep orange color it once was. I particularly had this HOA jerk pull over in front of our new home plus threaten myself and others will take all kinds of action if I didn’t update it. It was hysterical when I puffed up a bit plus challenged him face to face. That little weasel jumped right back in his car plus drove away. I basically dared him to try anything because I promised to have our lawyer spouse tear him a new one.
