You know, ever since I was young, people always told me how smart I was.
I never really thought much about it, but it was like people wouldn’t quit saying it.
I didn’t feel smarter than anybody else, and I always wondered what was up with that. When I became older, things started to make more sense. I had my parents telling me that I had all these great colleges to choose from. It was like they were trying to give me the illusion of a choice, but in reality they picked the colleges they wanted me to attend. I didn’t like that and I really just wanted to do my own thing. So I ended up going to a trade school which made them severely disappointed. I honestly didn’t think I was smart enough to go to one of these prestigious colleges. I had pretty good grades in high school, but I wasn’t some kind of brainiac like some other students I have known. I did feel comfortable in the HVAC trade school though, and I learned so much about heating and cooling technology. I actually was more excited than ever when I finally got my HVAC certification. I wanted to be the best HVAC technician I could be. I have now been doing this work for a few years now, and I’m loving it more than ever. Honestly, looking back on everything, I feel like I was made for this type of work. I make good money, I help people out, and I even enjoy working emergency HVAC hours. That’s when I get paid the big bucks!
