Even the animals are becoming AC junkies.

It worries me how people have become so attached to their animals.

When my dad used to say that the world was going to the dogs, I don’t think this is what he had in mind.

He loved his dog and he was willing to share his ice cream with her. He wouldn’t share his bed, and if anyone had talked to him or mom like they were the dog’s parents, he would flip. One woman told my mom she was such a lucky mommy to have such a cute little girl, and she was referring to the dog. My dad looked at her and asked if she was calling my mom a bitch? The woman blanched while dad continued to smile. He informed her that was their pet and their daughter was fully grown with ‘children’ of her own. He believed that animals had their place in the family, but they were animals. I know how he feels. When my daughter told me about my grandson, I blanched. I knew she had no children and she had to be talking about her dog. She told me she put a new ductless HVAC system into his house. They put up a shed, had it fully insulated, separated into two rooms so he had a room to eat and watch TV and a room with a bed. There was a puppy pad so he didn’t even need to go outside to go to the bathroom, and a light outside the door. Every day, they put a new puppy pad down. The house was attached to theirs by a doggy door. Now, the house has heating and air conditioning thanks to the ductless HVAC. I would have never thought she would go so far as to pay for HVAC for an animal.
